1. The Arkansas State Capitol

The Arkansas State Capitol is a magnificent structure that overlooks downtown to the east and the Arkansas River to the north. It was constructed over a century ago as a replica of the US Capitol and has been used in numerous films as a stand-in. The building features Arkansas granite and six bronze doors and three Tiffany’s of New York chandeliers. A 24-karat gold plated cupola covers the dome.

2. The Clinton Presidential Center

The Clinton Center, located on the bank of the Arkansas River, is visited by hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. The Clinton Foundation’s Little Rock offices are housed in the center, as well as the William J. Clinton Presidential Library and Museum.

The permanent collection at the center includes a replica of President Bill Clinton’s Oval Office, as well as his presidential limousine and a chronology with exhibits for each year of his term. Every year, the center hosts three to four temporary exhibits, which are outstanding.

3. The Little Rock Zoo

This is the only zoo in Arkansas recognized by the prestigious Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). With over 500 species represented, including many endangered ones, it’s also one of the most diversified zoos in the United States. Some of the Zoo’s main attractions are an exhibit with underwater viewing of African penguins and the Arkansas Heritage Farm, where you can see and touch heritage breed animals.

4. MacArthur Park

MacArthur Park is Little Rock’s oldest municipal park. The Quapaw Line Marker here marks the western survey line of land that the Quapaw Indians were permitted to keep after relinquishing their ancestral territory to the United States government in 1818. Today, the facility houses the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History. The Arkansas Korean War Veterans Memorial is located to the east of the Museum.

5. Big Dam Bridge

The Arkansas River and Murray Lock and Dam can be seen from this iconic bridge in Little Rock. The beautiful bridge, which stands 90 feet above the Arkansas River and 30 feet above the dam, is a stunning sight.
